Challenging your own stereotypes is hard
Challenging your own stereotypes is hard.
Identifying your own discriminatory thoughts is hard.
Coming to terms with unfamiliar concepts is hard.
That’s why many people, who are sometimes too scared to face their own unpleasant sides (or worse: think that those issues do not worth spending their energy on), go for the easy way.
They hold tight on their stereotypical opinions, maintain their discriminatory thoughts, and push away unfamiliar concepts around them.
To be honest, I don’t know how to fix this, but at least, being aware of the existence of such problem is a start, hopefully.
