Good writing appreciation

Just finished reading this article recently published by Robert Birming, and a particular part stood out to me ‒ in fact, it’s the very first two sentences.

I overheard a discussion during breakfast. Actually, a monologue would be a better way to describe it.

I can’t help but admire how well-written they are! A one-sided conversation is basically what is meant there, but the way he describes the scene? It’s just so vivid yet still succinct, added with a flavour of wit!

Gosh, my mumbo jumbo here just can’t do it justice! I know I might be making a big thing out of this, but the feeling of awe that I had when I first read that was still real, and I want to vent it out somewhere!
