ANYTHING* can be on your blog
This one-word post on this blog called Text by Me may be an extreme example, but is perfect for my main point here.
ANYTHING1 can be on your blog. ANYTHING! Apa-apa pun boleh! 乜嘢都得！
If you’ve set up a personal blog website, and then find yourself self-imposing arbitrary limits (be it the choice of topics, post length, language or whatnot) on what should or should not be on your blog, leading to a writer’s block, then tell yourself: FORGET ALL THOSE NONSENSE! JUST WRITE AND POST IT!
It’s okay for your post to be unrefined or even incomplete; what matters is that you came up with it. You, with your own soul, have written something, and have decided to publish it onto an open platform that respects the ordinary internet users, i.e. your personal website. That’s the key.
Sidenote: as explained by this post published on the next day, the author opted to post it despite having only a single word for a simple reason: “to prevent [losing] thoughts.”

Oh right… Actually not technically anything deserves to be on your blog, and I hope that we can rely on common sense to have a mutual understanding on what kind of stuff I’m referring to here. Yup, spammy things, like ads, malicious links, content mill text, etc. Don’t turn your personal online refuge into yet another corporate (or worse, criminal) shithole. ↩︎
