The padding XDDD
The ending theme of (the pilot episode of) the indie animation series The Art of Murder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBaNOjORAWs&t=1154s
The lyrics of this entire chorus, right until the last sentence, does not have any substantial meaning at all, which is a great way of building anticipation and crafting the character’s personality.
The meme potential of replacing the last sentence with literally anything else is just so funny to me. Not to mention this song is so catchy that even literally months after watching this pilot episode, I can still sing the chorus out of nowhere sometimes XD.
By the way, The Art of Murder is yet another brilliant addition to the indie animation scene, do watch and support the show!
The position of adverbs
Reminded myself of the flexibility of adverb placement in English sentences by this Reddit comment I saw.
For many cases the placement of adverbs does not change the meaning of a sentence (as demonstrated by these two pages of Taggart & Wine’s My Grammar and I).
However, what’s intriguing here is that that sentence seems to be an exception of that, in which case we are focusing on the part “The position isn’t just great.”
Let’s see how the meaning changes when the adverb “just” is placed in each of the grammatical positions in the sentence:
- Just, the position is not great. - 只是,那擺位不行啊。
- The position just is not great. - 那擺位真是不行啊。
- The position is just not great. - 那擺位是真不行啊。
- The position is not just great. - 那擺位不只是不錯呢。
- The position is not great, just. - 那擺位不行,剛好不行。
Interestingly, 2. and 3. mean the same in the sense that the badness of the position is emphasised the word “just”, but for 1., 4. and 5., the meaning changes:
1.
seems to suggest a contrasting idea, …5.
suggests that the degree of badness is right at the border of the standard, whereas, perhaps surprisingly, …4.
which is exactly the form that the original comment is in, actually gives the exact opposite meaning (i.e. the position is more than good) to perhaps what the commenter really intends to (i.e. the position is bad).
An example of the importance of word order in the English language, I guess.
Project Sekai 國際服於東南亞地區開通兩週年賀圖

圖片取自 https://x.com/ColorfulStageEN/status/1971031907598303439 (繪者:Yaoyaobae)
踢毽子的司!!!還有 sepak takraw(藤球)、batu seremban(抓石子/五石子)、gasing(陀螺)和「太空氣球」!
Domino's App feat. Hatsune Miku
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domino%27s_App_feat._Hatsune_Miku
相關報導,源自 Taipei Times(《臺北時報》):
https://www.taipeitimes.com/News/biz/archives/2002/09/09/167442
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIpy0oDdo8_3xz2f8Fi-IeU3HbsFg3d-v

Google Play Store 廣告轟炸
幹你的 Google Play 你認真? 我都已經特地搜尋某個特定的 app 了(啊對我是 project sekai 玩家),就代表我就只想要找那個 app,完全沒興趣去安裝其他東西,那你就應該乖乖給我我要的東西就好了。
結果整整超過三分之二的版面都是無謂的廣告是什麼意思???
我真正要的東西還要我多花幾秒才找得到???認真???
Dance Dance Danseur
Ani-One Asia 最近開始陸續上傳了 Dance Dance Danseur(《舞動不止》)第一季的完整版集數了!
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxSscENEp7Jin60x5M_I3-L1X7zxdpGpf
About Uncle Roger
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-55651798
When I first knew him, to be honest, he’s already unlikeable to me but I couldn’t really grasp why until I knew about these things. He’s never been a respectable figure to me since then.
Even when he started to make fun of CCP from around 2023, I still never find it sincere. Judging from his past actions, it’s likely that he is only driven by money, not principle.
And by the way, this video by Hans Why is such a breath of fresh air. For once, we can see someone using “Asian” pan-Chinese accent without being associated with idiocy. For once, we can see someone NOT hiding his “Asian” accent when discussing serious matters in English.
